If you haven’t eaten at Sweet Lorraine’s lately, here are some delicious reasons to plan another visit. Click on these links to the lunch and dinner menus and check out the new dishes for everyone from steak lovers to vegetarians.

Zip Steak Handcut 12 oz. New York StripThe Zip Steak (right)  is a 12 oz. New York strip marinated in mushrooms, soy and garlic, an old family recipe handed down to Lorraine’s husband. The marinade lightly chars the outside of the steak, giving it a mild smoky flavor. Lorraine tops the steak with a Zip Butter sauce, her version of the Detroit classic recipe.

Zydeco Vegetarian JambalayaLorraine said her newest favorite is the Zydeco Vegetarian Jambalaya (left), a twist on the traditional southern dish. Lorraine decided to call it Zydeco because…”well, zydeco is a wonderful blend of Cajun & Creole music from Louisiana that embodies so much of what Sweet Lorraine’s is all about—it’s a cultural mix from peoples of different backgrounds, it keeps growing, it’s so alive. Our dish is a harmony of these flavors,” she explained.

Sweet Lorraine’s Happy Hour continues daily from 4-7 p.m. and is a good value with half off select drinks and half off all items on the Bar Bites menu: Pub Fish & ChipsHousemade Crab WontonsCaesar Salad, Five Spice Calamari, Avocado Crab Cakes, Island Fire Coconut Shrimp, Brie Spring Rolls, Tuna Tempura Roll, Wild Mushroom Ravioli, SLC Burger, Pub Fish & Chips (right) and Housemade Crab Wontons (left).

Wednesday night is a great time to visit because “Wednesdays Rock!” at Sweet Lorraine’s. Local musicians (schedule below) perform each Wednesday in the bar area from 6-to 9 p.m.
